The Sling Doober™ is the long-awaited sling storage system for the rear of your rifle. Here at Tremis Dynamics, we have long said that the best storage method was masking tape. And that is the easiest method for stowage. However, for folks that train, they will run dozens of reps per training day where they will deploy that sling, requiring a lot of retaping. Ranger bands and the like are a great way to get shit caught up in your charging handle so we don't recommend them. (At all, ever)
The Dev Team has been trying different methods for about two years, trying to find a solution. Commercial products or custom, we tried a lot of methods. Finally, we landed on this plan. A laser cut sling hanger, attached with a user-replaceable shock cord to a custom-sewn doober-tab.
The hanger is wrapped on the sling at the apex of the slack when it's wrapped around the back of the stock. The hook can be attached to a number of locations, but we usually attach it to the same point the end of the sling is attached to.
The MOD 3
We omitted the custom polymer hanger and are using Onewrap™ which offers some distinct advantages. The sling does not need to be disassembled to attach, remove, or relocate the doober. It fits a wider selection of slings. All the way from 1" wide economy slings to 2" wide padded slings. Just cut off any excess material after you fit it to your sling. It is also quieter as there is less plastic hardware to be bouncing around when the sling has slack in it. And all the hooks are now black instead of raw stainless like the MOD2. The Doober Tab has been sewn slightly differently to offer a normal pull tab on one side and a shortened pull tab on the other to make it easier to grip.
Limited Edition Navy series.
We had a short run of Doober Tabs in a Navy colorway. We also have a different size available. Sourcing this webbing isn't as simple as the regular colors, but we found some that are 3/4" instead of the typical 1", so we used it and are calling it the "K Model" for obvious reasons. We may do these colors again, but maybe not. It all depends on supply.
We have some Old-School M81, just like we were issued in the Navy back in the '90s. We also have some modern AOR1 and AOR2.
