Product Overview
THIS IS A PRE-ORDER! Est. Release is Mid-April.
The ETQ™ Gen 2 by Snakestaff Systems isn’t just an evolution—it’s a revolution in compact, everyday carry (EDC) tourniquets. Engineered with patent-pending innovations and built to exceed previous tactical and medical standards, the ETQ™ Gen 2 takes everything great about the original and pushes it to the next level.
Designed for first responders, military personnel, overlanders, and everyday carriers, the ETQ™ Gen 2 provides unmatched portability and performance when every second count
Key Features:
Compact, Concealable, and EDC-Ready – 35% smaller than traditional tourniquets, the ETQ™ Gen 2 is built for daily carry. It fits perfectly in pockets, pouches, and pistol magazine holders while delivering full-size hemorrhage control.
Non-Absorbent, All-Weather Design – Built with materials that resist water absorption, the ETQ™ Gen 2 is perfect for maritime operations, adverse weather, and extreme conditions.
Versatile Application – Designed for adults, children, and K9 units, the ETQ™ Gen 2 can secure limbs as small as 1 inch in diameter, making it a must-have for every emergency scenario.
Mil-Spec Durability – Constructed with Mil-Spec 4088 webbing and UV-rated polymer components, ensuring rugged, long-lasting reliability in any environment.
GEN 2
Power Curve Technology (Patent Pending) – A breakthrough curved slot design in the tourniquet body evenly distributes pressure across the band, reducing the risk of permanent tissue damage caused by uneven compression. Traditional tourniquets with straight slots create excess pressure at the edges—Gen 2 eliminates that issue for safer, more effective hemorrhage control.
New Tri-Grip Windlass (Patent Pending) – The redesigned windlass now features three flat gripping surfaces per side, improving finger control and mechanical advantage over traditional round rods. Manufactured from a high-strength composite used in aerospace and engine parts, it’s stronger than aluminum and won’t fail like cheap knockoffs.
This is our favorite windlass on any TQ currently made!
Windlass Ring for Easier Turns (Patent Pending) – The reinforced steel ring under the windlass makes this one of the easiest tourniquets to tighten on the market. The first two turns of any tourniquet’s windlass are typically the hardest—this innovation provides superior leverage and mechanical advantage, ensuring rapid and secure application.
Optimized Tourniquet Body & Routing – The longer, improved body design keeps the tourniquet in a straighter configuration, even if the user doesn’t fully tighten the strap first. While you should always tighten the band first, this update helps mitigate user error—because in a life-threatening emergency, you need every advantage.
Larger Carabiner Opening – While maintaining the same compact gate size, the internal space of the carabiner has been significantly enlarged to make stowing the windlass easier—especially after multiple windlass turns.
Reinforced Hook & Loop Band – Now backed with webbing, the Gen 2 band resists folding in half or sticking to itself, making it faster to lasso around a limb and easier to thread under pressure.
On-Tourniquet Instructions + QR Code Training – Clear, step-by-step instructions are printed directly on the ETQ™ Gen 2 for fast reference. Plus, a scannable QR code takes users to a detailed instructional video—so you can learn and refresh your skills whenever needed.
Why We Removed the Chemlight – The Gen 1 chemlight was breaking and activating in transit or during everyday carry. Based on user feedback, we removed it. We were not fans of the chemlight due to accidental breakage resulting in a bright IR signature.
One of the most common questions: Is the ETQ™ TCCC-recommended?
Here’s the reality—the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) hasn’t met since 2019 to evaluate new tourniquets. That means no new tourniquet has been reviewed in over five years.
However, the ETQ™ Gen 2 was designed to meet and exceed all prior TCCC standards and goes even further to match Department of Defense working group requirements. This is the next evolution in battlefield and civilian emergency care.
Avaiable in the Industry Standard 1" Constricting band, as well as a Wide 1.5" constricting band. BLUE Trainniers are available in both sizes.
